Sobre
João Hisse is an artist. His work emerges within an interdisciplinary space spanning art, architecture, and social practice. Thinking primarily through painting, he investigates the multiple ways bodies interact with their environment: the body within a social body, the body in architecture, the body in the landscape. The construction of the painting results from a devouring of the surrounding space, through an accumulation of gestures and procedures—layers that overlap and rearrange themselves to create a new universe of imagery.
